We are off to England Scotland and Wales

January 18-19:  We took BART to the airport,  1pm and arrived at Heathrow at 2pm the next day.  With the time change, it really took 10 hours.  We were trying to sleep because it was dark most of the flight, but didn’t have much luck.   Long flight.  We arrived tired.  We went to the ATM machine at Heathrow and our card wouldn’t work.  We tried to make a call to BofA and the phone wouldn’t work.  It took 30 minutes until a lady at the information counter suggested that we may be trying to withdraw too much.  We backed down and everything worked.  We took the Heathrow Express (train) to Paddington Station and were able to find our hotel after a short walk.  Barry House used to be somebody’s house.  It is 4 stories but we got a room on the first floor.  The room is the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Wayne couldn’t do push-ups because there wasn’t room for his elbows.  The ceiling, however, was taller than the room was wide. We napped for a couple of hours and then walked to Burger King for dinner.  Came back and went to bed for the night.
